Job Description:
Headquartered in Montague, PEI, Atlantic Safety Wear is a fast growing company currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant. They will provide administrative support to Management and the sales team in achieving the organization’s goals and objectives. This role requires a highly organized, accurate and resourceful professional who thrives in delivering superior support in a complex, fast-paced environment.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
- Entering orders accurately from the order desk email into our internal software system.
- Using accounting software, in the areas of sales, accounts receivables, accounts payables, and banking.
- Advising customers on work wear apparel to fit their needs
- Receptionist duties during regular business hours – Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, in-person and mail.
- Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, note-taking etc.
- Providing confidential administrative duties for the sales team and Management, including the preparation and collation of written reports and materials
- Working with other team members to develop and maintain systems that support the smooth, successful and integrated operation of the administrative function.
- Assisting in delivering and creating an excellent customer experience through professional interactions with customers, industry partners and other stakeholders.
- Making travel arrangements for sales staff such as booking flights, cars, and hotel or restaurant reservations.
- Maintaining inventory for supplies, catalogs and other marketing materials by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required or directed by senior management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- College or CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program from 1 yr to 2 yrs
- 1+ year of accounting and administration experience is preferred
- Experience and strong understanding of inventory system Cin7 is preferred
- Strong understanding of the apparel business, recognizing products, and awareness of their functions and abilitie.
- Experience using web based accounting programs, specifically Xero.
- Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Google Workspace, Cin7 and Xero
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills (English essential) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships
- A self-starter who is reliable and detail-oriented
- You must be physically present in PEI and be legally authorized to work in Canada

Salary: Starting from $24.60/hour and can be discussed based on experience and qualifications.
- This is a full-time/permanent position. Hours are Monday to Friday regular business hours (Flexible hours could be discussed)
- Primary business location is at 13 Wood Islands Road Rte, 315 Montague, PEI, C0A1R0
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and driver’s license.
- Must be willing to provide a criminal record check following an offer of employment with the Company.
