Nutrition Manager

Following recommendations from Canada’s Food Guide and use the P.E.I. Department of Health and Social Services Menu Planner for Daycare Facilities the Nutrition Manager is responsible for: Preparing and serving morning and afternoon snack and lunch for CHANCES centre programs; Preparing the grocery list for the centre keeping in mind budget and storage capacity; Cleaning duties at the centre which include, but are not limited to sweeping & washing floors, emptying garbage, compost and recycling containers, washing, drying, and putting away dishes, washing cabinets, counter tops and cupboards, cleaning fridges, freezers and stoves & ovens. We are looking for a Special Needs Assistant to work at our Early Learning Centre. 20 hours per week. Positions is Monday to Friday and is to start as soon as possible. Community Navigator

CHANCES (Caring, Helping, And Nurturing, Children Every Step) is a non-profit, charitable organization that exists to provide a range of child development and parent support services to children from 0-11 years and their families, particularly those experiencing additional life challenges. In the provision of a range of comprehensive programs and services, CHANCES receives funding through the Public Health Agency of Canada, the province of Prince Edward Island, and private donations. This position will be located in CHANCES Health Clinic and reporting to the Family Program Coordinator and collaborating closely with the nurse practitioners. Job responsibilities: Ability to work alongside administration team Prepare morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack for all classrooms, following a set menu Prepare grocery order Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation each day Prepare appropriate amount of food for each classroom meeting all the guidelines Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas Ensure all thermometers are working appropriately Wash and sanitize all dishes Clean kitchen and appliances throughout the day Organize and put away all groceries, food orders, non-food items As needed, (usually in the morning) will be in ratio working with the children until educators arrive for their shift. As needed, relieve educators throughout the day for washroom break and/or lunch breaks.
