Packaging Operator

Job Description:

As a Packaging Operator you will have an understanding of the potato granule production process.  Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for the big and small bag packaging. This position operates as a 2 shift schedule (7am-5pm and   5pm -3am Monday – Friday. Also, depending on the packaging schedule overtime may also be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Responsible for the operation of the packaging equipment.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all magnets (CCP 3P)
• Operating and maintaining forklift
• Operate and maintain packaging equipment
• Load bulk trailers
• Keep daily records and filing information
• Communicate with other production areas
• Informs other employees of unsafe working and operating practices and reports any action sited to supervisor if not corrected immediately
• Performs any duty assigned including plant clean-up, housekeeping or operation of any area required
• Follow all housekeeping policies according to good manufacturing practices
• Responsible for warehouse sanitation
• Responsibilities of this position may change according to company operating policy

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good writing, communication and math skills
• Excellent housekeeping/sanitation practices
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and correct situations
• Heavy lifting will be required
• Computer literacy an asset
• Extensive experience in forklift operating
