Job Description:

The PEI Rape and Sexual Assault Centre (PEIRSAC) is seeking a Clinical Consultant to provide part-time clinical consultation and support through a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and feminist lens. The Clinical Consultant will have extensive experience in trauma-informed care, particularly in supporting survivors of sexual violence, including adults, adolescents, and children (12 and over).

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree: In Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or a related field, with current registration with the appropriate professional body.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of five years experience in clinical practice, particularly working with survivors of sexualized violence, complex trauma, childhood sexual violence, historical sexualized violence, and dissociative defences.
  • Commitment to Anti-Oppressive Practice: Demonstrated critical analysis of social and cultural factors contributing to sexualized violence, with a strong commitment to anti-oppressive, decolonizing, and feminist practices.
  • Supervision and Mentorship Experience: Proven experience in supervising or mentoring clinical staff, therapists, or practicum students in trauma-informed care.
  • Case Management Expertise: Extensive experience in case management, including maintaining confidential client records and adhering to reporting standards.
  • Therapeutic Modalities: Proficiency in trauma-informed therapeutic modalities such as, but not limited to: Feminist Narrative, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
  • Legal and Ethical Knowledge: Familiarity with Prince Edward Island’s legal frameworks and ethical considerations specific to sexual violence, including client confidentiality, consent, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborative Practice: Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary clinical team and attend monthly meetings to discuss therapeutic needs and recommendations.
