Truss Assembler

Job Description:

Specialists in wood roof trusses, floor joist, and engineered products for residential, commercial, and agriculture construction projects, Island Structural Systems Inc. is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Truss Assembler. 

Responsibilities:

• Assemble roof trusses and floor joist including setting up production table
• Lift, gather and move lumber, connector plates and other materials
• Take measurements, cut and connect wooden components to design specs
• Ensure material is assembled accurately and in a timely manner
• Responsible for basic maintenance on equipment
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Accepts other duties as assigned
• Operate equipment

Requirements:

• Ability to work steadily in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Able to do physical work in varying temperatures
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Safety mindset, follows procedures and demonstrates safe work behaviours
• Organized and pays high attention to detail
• Positive attitude and communication with colleagues
• Punctual, reliable, determined and willing to learn
• Experience using tape measure, hammer and power tools is required
• Experience in similar role an asset but not a requirement
