Job Coach

Job Description:

The Job Coach will provide support to adults with developmental disabilities in competitive work settings.  He/she provides appropriate programming based upon the clients goals and objectives.

Core Functions:

• Communicate effectively and proactively with stakeholders
  Teach skills necessary for client to meet or exceed performance expectations
• Use creative thinking and independent problem-solving skills
• Prepare analysis of work environment, when required
• Facilitate the building of natural supports at the workplace
• Learn the business’ culture and effectively communicate to the client
• Continually identify and develop a plan to reduce on-site support
• Assist clients in understanding the value of their job
• Use of appropriate teaching techniques that result in client performing the task independent of staff support.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills including active listening
