Job Description:
Horizon Learning Academy is an education center based in Charlottetown, PE. It aims at offering various kinds of educational and recreational courses to both adults and kids, such as subject coaching, art and music courses.
We are currently looking for part-time tutor who can teach art & craft lessons. These lessons could include but are not limited to; Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, etc. Tutors would be responsible for creating lessons that are fun, interesting, and specific to the needs of our students. Tutors will be responsible for teaching and engaging students, as well as helping students where they may need extra support.
Duties
- Teach engaging material to small groups or individual students;
- Create positive and effective working relationships with students;
- Ability to adapt to individual student needs and learning styles;
- Prepare teaching material for the courses;
- Evaluate, record and provide feedback on the progress of students’ learning.
Requirements
A post-secondary qualification on relevant subjects (e.g. Art, Design) or working currently in related fields; candidates who have considerable and suitable experience, or students currently studying relevant subjects will also be considered.
- Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred but not essential;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Passionate about learning and teaching
