Bilingual Combined Service Worker 1 (Nutrition Services)
Health PEI– Summerset Manor, Summerside
Full-Time Permanent (CUPE) Position
(Commencing Immediately)

The Combined Service Worker’s primary role is to support the Resident Households within Summerset Manor. Principle duties include portioning and serving of residents meals and general cleaning within the resident household.
Duties will include:
- preparing household dining rooms for resident meals including placing cutlery, condiments and other meal accessories and foods on the dining tables; organizing foodstuff for meal preparation; portioning and serving resident meals and beverages from household servery, and assisting residents as needed;
- washing dishware and food preparation/serving equipment by machine or hand, and returning it to appropriate locations; cleaning of resident servery kitchens;
- preparing and maintaining lists of residents food likes/dislikes and dietary restrictions; replenishing cupboards and refrigerators; preparing routine household grocery orders;
- cleaning and sanitizing counters, tables, cupboard, shelves, carts, refrigerators and other servery kitchen areas and equipment; sweeping and mopping the servery kitchen floor;
- mopping (wet/dry) and scrubbing floors; dusting and washing various surfaces including walls, woodwork, interior windows; cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and furnishings; gathering and removing garbage from rooms and delivering to designated collection points and dumpsters;
- cleaning and disinfecting entire washroom areas and fixtures; washing and sanitizing beds; cleaning tub and shower rooms, staff washroom, and clean and dirty utility rooms; cleaning and disinfecting isolation room walls, floors and furnishings; replenishing supplies, dispensable toiletries and house cleaning supplies in all locations;
- adhering to safe work practices, following Occupational Health & Safety guidelines and applicable safety codes;
- be part of the Person Centered Care Team; and performing other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have successfully completed Grade 12 and be capable of sustained physical activity.
- This is a bilingual position. Applicants are required to be proficient in both French and English, oral and written.
- Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and be able to understand and follow oral and / or written instructions.
- The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record.

Salary Range: $20.72 – $20.98 per hour
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly / 11.25hr Shifts / Days / Every Second Weekend.
