Job Description:

The Construction Association of PEI is a reputable association representing the construction industry on PEI.  With over 310 members, CAPEI stays busy by advocating for our industry and working on new ways to innovate our recruitment efforts. We are looking for an energetic candidate to join our team and aid our office in recruiting a large, diverse, and skilled workforce.

The ideal candidate will be able to complete the three main aspects of this role, those being:  Office Administration, Workforce Development, and Marketing.

Office Administration Tasks:

Answer phone calls and business communications representing the CAPEI brand.

Complete printing jobs when necessary (ie building plans and membership cards).

Knowledge of Microsoft office/google suite is beneficial.

Ability to speak to small crowds and take meetings when necessary.

Other duties as required.

Workforce Development Tasks:

Be able to bring new ideas to the table that will recruit new talents to the Construction industry and increase our workforce.

Create plans that will help make PEI’s construction industry a more diverse, inclusive, and innovative industry.

Work with employers on how your strategies can benefit their workforce and collaborate with CAPEI HR Advisor on how we can benefit our member companies.

Work with CAPEI’s programs (skilled newcomers, youth in trades, discover carpentry) and various community groups to assist their development, help where needed, and continue to promote diversity & inclusion.

Marketing Tasks:

As required, the candidate will need to assist our marketing team with creating graphics using photoshop (Canva works if you can work with our branding) and post to social media.

Candidate will assist in our Virtual Reality training, ie. becoming an expert on the Virtual Reality modules, going to schools across island to present our Immersive Learning labs, effectively assisting students through each experience, and more!

Candidate will assist in presentations to schools and community groups to promote diversity and inclusion in construction through statistics and incentives.

Salary: 16-20 for 37.5 hours a week.

Role commencing start of November, 2022 – End date is TBD.
