Job Description:

The Canadian Mental Health Association, PEI Division is looking for an individual who likes to create engaging, informative, and user-friendly web sites and has a passion for story- telling.

The successful candidate would be working to re-design / map a new website for CMHA-PEI. The scope of the project would also include working with the Marketing/Communications team on a social media plan.

Duties will include:

  • Moving current web content from WordPress to Wix
  • Mapping new website with end user in mind
  • Working with programming staff to create new and engaging content for Web and Social Media
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Linking social media accounts and website and ensuring proper analytics are in place
  • Adding an e-commerce solution for course registrations
  • Working with Marketing/Comms team to ensure daily web/social media updates happen
  • Coaching program staff on how to optimize/re-brand their individual websites (3 more in total)

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a diploma or degree in a related field (Business, IT, Communications)
  • Has experience and/or knowledge with WordPress, Wix and scripting languages
  • Is a problem solver and able to help create or facilitate custom solutions if needed
  • Has the ability to ensure SEO, proper analytics etc…
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Is detailed oriented
  • Has general understanding of what mental health is

Start Date: January 18, 2020 – March 26, 2020
Rate of Pay: 20.23/hour
Work Location: 178 Fitzroy Street

* As per funding agreement, this is a 10 week internship open to recent (in the last 12 months) graduates, 30 years old or younger who self assess as unemployed or underemployed for their level of education, and are legally entitled to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status.

* A budget for specific digital skills training and “soft” skills training is available to help see this project to completion.

* Daily work schedule is flexible and based on 37.5 hours/week
