Job Description:

Inventory/Delivery Associate  

This person is responsible for receiving, pricing, and delivering products/supplies. Duties would also include operating freight, handling equipment, maintaining and operating company vehicles, upkeep of warehouse space, verifying paperwork and providing excellent customer service (which includes friendly and positive communication, a steady pace and order accuracy). Our goal is to exceed our customer’s expectations and to provide ‘the best customer service experience in PEI’.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with customers in a positive, helpful manner;
  • Projecting a professional appearance;
  • Noting suspicous customer activity and reporting it to the Manager
  • Maintaining security over merchandise and delivery documents;
  • Moving heavy and bulky merchandise for customers and sales personnel;
  • Assist in loading and unloading merchandise and materials;
  • Following all safety policies in place, reporting unsafe work conditions, keeping a safe and tidy work area;
  • Performing light vehicle maintenance (Ex. Checking oil, etc.);
  • Maintaining vehicle maintenance records and reporting maintenance needs immediately;
  • Advising the Manager of shortages or damaged goods;
  • Verifying sales and delivery documentation;
  • Following policies related to required signatures, forms, receipts, returns, etc.
  • Following policies related to deliveries and receiving;
  • Ensuring customer complaints are resolved or redirected to the Manager;
  • Maintaining confidentiality of store and customer records, inventory;
  • Attending meetings/training as required;
  • Assisting with inventory counts;
  • Organizing inventory – keeping it well stocked, tidy and well signed;
  • Operating freight handling equipment in a safe manner;
  • Completing odd jobs/errands;
  • Communicating suggestions for policy or procedure changes that could improve sales, profits, morale, efficiency, etc.;
  • Follow through on all customer commitments (Under promise, over deliver);
  • Return phone calls and emails in a prompt manner;
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record and lawfully operate all company vehicles used to make deliveries;
  • Self-motivated/able to work independently;
  • Professional, friendly and helpful attitude at all times;·
  • Attention to detail;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments as needed;
  • Ability to work at a steady pace;
  • Adherance to safety policies as outlined in the employee handbook;
  • Familiar with basic computer programs;
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required;
  • Able to visually verify contents of a shipment;
  • Able to lift/move up to 100 lbs, bending, standing;
  • High school graduation or equivalent.

Full time permanent position year-round, with benefits after a successful probation.
