Office & Retail Assistant

Cascumpec Bay Oyster Company produces premium quality Prince Edward Island oysters for markets.  We pride ourselves on sustainable aquaculture practices and delivering exceptional taste and freshness to our customers, wether those customers are wholesale customers located throughout North America, local retail customers, or our online oyster lovers.

The duties of the Office & Retail Assistant will comprise of , but not limited to:

OFFICE DUTIES

  • Record keeping
  • Purchase orders and invoicing
  • Phone and email communications
  • Shipping documents and label preparation
  • Respond to website inquiries
  • Basic web-store maintenance

RETAIL DUTIES

  • Operate store regular hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Track and monitor retail inventory
  • Display stock neatly
  • Ability to shuck oysters or willingness to learn
  • Cash handling & daily cash-out

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

  • High school diploma
  • College/University degree considered an asset
  • Must be able to prioritize and coordinate daily activities, examine and analyze information, and compile date

  • Strong team player with a positive attitude

This role requires compliance with quality assurance expectations and standards.  You may be required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.  Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 pounds without assistance.  Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Satrting wages at $20/hour
  • Full time; Year-round. Typical hours 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
  • Paid breaks. Paid vacation (2 weeks).  Paid sick days (5 days)
  • Manulife health benefits, cost shared between you and the company
