One to One Support Worker

Job Description:

We are looking for kind and understanding individuals who work as one-to-one workers during our weekend and day programs! As a one-to-one worker, you will be working with a child who is on the autism spectrum and has higher needs and more support.  Our one-to-one workers must be able to adapt quickly and problem-solve.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for working with one individual during the day
• Continually encourage and keep clients active and engaged in fun and challenging activities that meet clients’ needs while maintaining a safe environment
• Follow directions from management, supervisors and healthcare workers
• Follow and execute activities according to IBI or IEP (if applicable)
• Provide personal care and dietary assistance to clients
• Follow all camp policies and procedures
• Work in a team environment
• Administrative duties, as required

Qualifications

• A clear Criminal Background Check required
• Must be over 18 years of age
• Post-secondary student or graduate from a post-secondary institution and/or certificate in a related field (ie: Human Services or Educational Assistant)
• Experience working with people with disabilities, specifically those with autism
• Experience with IBI and IEPs
• First Aid and CPR are required before the job begins
• Must be available to work some weekends, as respites are two weekends per month
