Job Description:

This position will be primarily leading daytime workshops in our classroom, however customer service and use of the POS will also be utilized. The applicant must be able to work weekends. The position begins in June and ends August 31st.

Workshop Instructor Role:
– Plan and lead engaging art workshops for students of various ages and skill levels.
– Assist in developing lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the workshop theme and participants’ interests.
– Provide individualized guidance and feedback to students to help them explore and develop their artistic skills.
– Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves creatively.
– Set-up and organization of workshop materials and equipment.
– Collaborate with the owner to brainstorm new workshop ideas and improve program offerings.

Retail Sales Associate Role:
– Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
– Provide expert product knowledge and recommendations to customers based on their preferences and artistic interests.
– Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
– Restock shelves and merchandise products to ensure a visually appealing and well-stocked store environment.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including dusting shelves, sweeping floors, and tidying displays.
– Perform opening and closing duties.

Requirements:
– Enrolled or graduating from a post-secondary institution pursuing a degree in an arts related field or Education.
– Strong artistic skills and a passion for teaching and mentoring others.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
– Previous experience teaching or assisting with art workshops is preferred but not required.
– Experience working with children or youth in an educational setting.
– Familiarity with various art mediums and techniques.
– Retail sales experience required.
