Job Description:

BLACKBUSH – HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

PURPOSE:

The Human Resources and Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and human resources support to Resort Management. The successful candidate will play a vital role introducing the Blackbush Resort and Fin Folk Food team. Blackbush Beach Resort is a year-round experiential vacation and conference property on Prince Edward Island. Nestled in the windswept parabolic dunes of PEI’s North Shore community, Blackbush is the only resort to enable the curious, the adventuresome, and the seeker to experience the wildness, power and beauty of the Canadian beach, even in winter.

REPORTS TO:

Blackbush Resort Manager and Fin Folk Food Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources Duties:

Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding of the team of employees for Blackbush Resort and Fin Folk Food. This will include but not be limited to:

  • Attending job fairs
  • Performing pre-screening telephone interviews
  • Setting up and assisting with interviews
  • Preparing job offers
  • Assisting in organizing training and onboarding
  • Spearheading performance review process for the management team
  • Working with HR team at APM MacLean to maintain employee records and process weekly payroll
  • Weekly scheduling of employees
  • Other duties as needed

Administrative Duties

  • Attend team meetings and other meetings as recorder and secretary
  • Maintain Calendars and schedules of management team
  • Respond to customer and guest inquiries
  • Arrange, confirm and (in some cases) attend external meetings
  • Compile and share meeting notes and bring-forward items
  • Maintain and track inventory of office supplies and branded resort “swag”
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • This position will change and evolve over time as the project progresses.
  • Flexibility and an eagerness to learn and grow is imperative.
  • This is not an exhaustive list of duties, other duties will be assigned by management.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Project management experience, including digital PM tools
  • Strong time-management, organizational and detail-oriented proficiencies
  • Motivated to provide personal, consistent guest service
  • Understands and strives to meet Blackbush Standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and social skills
  • Demonstrate dependability, efficiency, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University or college diploma preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with Human Resources
  • Adept at utilizing technology to streamline processes and achieve business goals
  • Diploma in office administration or related experience an asset
  • Strong correspondence writing skills
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal communication via phone
  • Exceptional problem solving, prioritizing, and time management skills
  • Proficient with using Microsoft 365
