Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the development and implementation of program area recruitment plans with program coordinators by facilitating the recruitment process.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to determine recruitment requirements for operations.
  • Provide assistance with day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process by posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, Onboarding, offboarding and supporting the senior team as requested.
  • Assist in managing & maintaining the approved Job Descriptions.
  • Expand employee handbook and/or develop policies and document acceptable norms that are HR related.
  • Improve and help managers create opportunities to attract staff.  Explore and implement additional recruitment and retention strategies, including expanding job advertisements on different mediums, job fairs, connections with Holland College programs, government wage and employment programs, etc.
  • Provides advice and support services for employee development, general labour relation issues, management relations and strategic recruitment and retention improvement and strategies for the organization.
    Maintains ongoing communications with employees; acting as a liaison between employees and management, and as a resource for employees to speak with confidentially regarding organization matters.
  • Implement individual and HR team projects such as reward and recognition, retention, and career development programs.
  • Provide information and advice regarding workforce planning, employee relations, workplace issues, workplace health and safety, and HR related legislation.
  • Helps coordinate and /or deliver staff training, seminars, and development opportunities.
  • Implement established programs such as the performance review cycle and compensation review cycle for operations.
  • Monitor key HR metrics to identify operational level trends and strategic issues requiring action planning.
  • Monitor the employee experience throughout the operations to identify employee relations issues and opportunities, recommend ideas and actions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources role.
  • Knowledge of legislation pertaining to employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Familiar with Human Resource Management Systems and recruitment software.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Possess strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of files, personal information, and other matters, as appropriate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
