Job Description:
Skills Canada PEI is hiring a community outreach coordinator to provide outreach and career awareness to Island youth specifically in the areas of trades, apprenticeship and technology. The successful candidate will deliver in-school presentations to raise awareness of trades and technology, apprenticeship education and careers to Island youth. This will include presenting at school expos, career fairs and classroom settings.
The successful applicant will be responsible for outreach, promotion and communicating with school administrators/teachers, scheduling in-school presentations and information sessions and evaluating the effectiveness of presentation by surveying participants. The successful applicant will also work with the Department of Apprenticeship to ensure relevant messaging is being conveyed – as well as developing engaging presentations/activities to deliver to Island students.
This position is funded through the Digital Skills for Youth PEI program – all applicants must be 15 to 30 years old and have recently completed post-secondary studies, meaning a degree or diploma program from a recognized institution.
