Commercial Driver 
Vanco Farms Ltd. specializes in growing specialty potatoes, organic potatoes, premium cut tulips, and tulip bulbs. The farm is family owned and operated, and we proudly grow our products in the signature red soil of Prince Edward Island.

Position Summary 
The Commercial Driver position is a seasonal position that involves transporting materials between Vanco Farm’s PEI based operations and those in the United States.

Position Responsibilities 

• Load, haul and deliver materials between Vanco Farms work locations in PEI and the USA.
• Utilize safe transport practices, such as proper and legal load securement.
• Ensure proper chain up, tarping and strapping down all loads.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections, while addressing any defects immediately.
• Maintain driver’s electronic logging device and recording all pertinent entries.
• Driving long distances, ability to use GPS and map out planned driving routes.
• Other related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities 

• Valid Class 3 license and drivers abstract.
• Must possess valid passport for purpose of crossing US border.
• Availability to travel for extended periods, working extended hours including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Vanco Farms strives to offer a competitive wage starting at $22 per hour, to be negotiated. This is a seasonal position starting mid-late January until June. Hours of work are dependent on the driving schedule. Flexibility to workdays, evenings and weekends would be required.
