Job Description:

The Quality Control Inspector performs quality control inspection for both company manufactured and externally provided goods.

The Quality Control Inspector performs tests and inspections during all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure all products meet company and customer quality specifications.

QUALITY CONTROL FOR MANUFACTURED PRODUCTS

  • Reviews current work practices to identify areas in which quality or productivity could be improved.
  • Monitors the manufacturing process at appropriate stages and suggests improvement to the Production team.
  • Develops documentation for inspection and tests conducted on products, and reports test results and quality problems.
  • Works very closely with production personnel carrying out scheduled and random checks on product quality during the production process.
  • Performs final checks/tests prior to products being dispatched to the customer.
  • Conducts investigations into products that require improvement as specified by the customer.
  • Coordinates systems to monitor customer satisfaction levels.
  • Works with customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Identifies inconsistencies and researches their causes.
  • Recommends the reprocessing of low-quality products.

QUALITY CONTROL FOR EXTERNALLY PROVIDED PRODUCTS

  • Supports Warehouse Clerk during the receiving process to conduct inspections on externally provided products where applicable.
  • Works together with Procurement and with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Supports the Supplier Evaluation and Qualification Process.
  • Manages the Supplier Non-Conforming Product Process.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

  • Ensures compliance with quality processes, procedures and internal controls established in the Quality Management System.
  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of quality processes and practices.
  • Supports the Quality engineer to conducts internal quality audits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Training in Quality Management Systems (such as 7 quality tools, Jurans quality principles, greenbelt training, etc.)
  • Mathematical skills required to use statistical tools.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

  • Tailor communication (e.g., content, style and medium) to ensure buy-in from manufacturing colleagues.
  • Read cues from diverse listeners to assess when and how to change planned communication approach to effectively deliver message.
  • Communicate effectively at varied organizational levels.
  • Understand others’ underlying needs, motivations, emotions or concerns and communicate effectively despite the sensitivity of the situation.

TRAINING & COACHING

  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the manufacturing field.
  • Demonstrated skills in Encouraging the creativity in others and the maintenance of an internal environment in which people can become fully involved in achieving the organization’s quality objective.
