Job Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking highly a motivated individual to become part of a team constructing a Solar Farm, with 24MW of Solar Power and combined with its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), it will be one-of-a-kind in the Renewable Energy Industry.

This individual will have the ability to work well in a team environment, be self-motivated and willing to learn and follow instructions.

Work comfortably on construction sites and in various weather conditions and environments.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with AKA lead’s and electricians, coordinate daily assignments, tasks and subtasks
    Review, understand and be able to perform tasks set out by Racking and Paneling
    procedure booklets
  • Capable of using hand tools, construction of racking and paneling to a high quality upon repetition
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining an effective safety practices
  • Assemble and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in compliance with site plans. May include measuring, cutting, assembling & bolting structural framing and solar modules
  • This person will be efficient and reliable with the ability to take direction and follow instruction
  • The successful candidate will have great customer service skills, high attention to detail, strong work ethic and must work well in a fast paced work environment
  • Complete daily Site Assessments and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s)
  • Work to be done according to predetermined plans, procedures and safety restrictions
  • Work in a safe and controlled manner at all times, maintain a high level of professionalism and be an ambassador for the company and the industry
  • Must be able to work co-operatively/ respectfully with piers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be willing to work weekends
  • Work is outdoors for extended periods of time
  • Be physically fit to lift and handle solar panels weighing approximately 50 lbs
  • Must be comfortable working at heights off step ladders
  • Must be able to work well on a team and individually
  • Must be willing to work locally, and throughout the province.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the job responsibilities above, or have post secondary education or current from an accredited institution on PEI.
  • Solar experience is preferred or renewable mindset.
  • Fall Protection and First Aid certifications are preferred.
  • Electrical experience or education is considered an asset.

MUST HAVE

  • Own vehicle/reliable transportation
  • Valid drivers license and proof of PEI residency
  • Must have steel toed boots, all other PPE will be supplied
  • Job Type: Fixed term contract

CONTRACT LENTH

  • 3-6 months
  • Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
  • Schedule: 10-12 hour shift
  • Weekend availability required
