Job Description:
Position Synopsis
The Manufacturing Technician is the front-end labour force in the manufacturing process. He/she carries out project builds based upon the established manufacturing process as defined within the company’s quality systems implementation, with technical guidance from appropriately qualified and skilled resources within the manufacturing discipline.
It is the responsibility of the Manufacturing Technician to work cooperatively within the manufacturing team and to follow the defined processes for quality, health and safety, and environment regulation. It is also their responsibility to raise concerns, provide feedback to continuous improvement, or stop work if he/she sees unsafe practice to personal or team safety.
Position Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, electrical code specifications;
- Mechanical assembly of electrical control cabinets and panels;
- Wiring electrical control panels;
- Assist with setup and testing of completed project builds;
- Installation, examination, replacing or repairing switch boxes, electrical wiring, conduits, coaxial cable assemblies, feeders, lighting fixtures, receptacles and other such electrical components;
- Testing electronic and electrical components and equipment for voltage, resistance, continuity and current;
- Maintaining, repairing, testing and installation of generators, alternators, electrical motors, pneumatic and hydraulic electrical control systems and industrial storage batteries;
- Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining industrial, electronic and electrical control systems along with other associated devices;
- Following manufacturing processes and quality policies;
- Following safety policies and environmental regulations;
- Exchanging and sharing information and experience with co-workers;
- Providing feedback regarding continuous improvement to process and company culture.
Position Requirements Education & Experience
- High school diploma;
- Secondary school completion (considered an asset but not required);
- Previous experience in similar work environment.
