The Salon du livre de l'I.-P.-E. is a non-profil organization which operates the PEI French language book show. This book show takes place every two years, in either Charlottetown or Summerside, and brings together book sellers, publishing houses, authors and illiustrators for a 3 to 4 day event. The event is open to the general public and also offers special programming for French language schools and French immersion programs. Since PEI does not have a French language bookstore, the Salon fills a significant gap for the province's French-speaking population. Events like this one are very common in the French-speaking world and are held across the country. The Salon du livre de l'I.-P.-E. has been running in PEI since 2014.
