Town of Tignish

209 Phillip Street, Tignish, PEI

Business Description

Tignish, located in the western part of PEI, has an estimated 800 residents. The Tignish area has many other important and unique nearby communities, attractions, people, and businesses.

Tignish and its surrounding area offer its residents and visitors a wide range of resources and services. Having such amenities makes Tignish and its surroundings a friendly, safe, and efficient place to live and work.

In a nutshell, Tignish is primarily a fishing and farming community since most of the surrounding land is farmland, and there is a thriving fishing wharf (Tignish Harbor) just 5 minutes from Church Street. Our rural roots are complemented nicely by Tignish's thriving commercial sector.

Tignish is also the gateway to the Confederation Trail, a 410-kilometre trail developed on abandoned railway beds, which takes you tip-to-tip across the Island. A shared-use walking, hiking, running, cycling, and wheelchair-accessible trail in the summer, it becomes a snowmobile trail in the winter.

Meet our friendly residents, sample our local cuisine, visit our landmarks, and make Tignish your home base for a visit to the western tip of Prince Edward Island. We’ll make you feel at home!
