Value Village, a Savers brand, is a for-profit, global thrift retailer offering great quality, gently used clothing, accessories and household goods. Our Rethink Reuse® business model of purchasing, reselling and recycling gives communities a smart way to shop and keeps more than 700 million pounds of used goods from landfills each year. We also help more than 100 nonprofit organizations by purchasing donated goods from them, which provides a source of revenue to help supports their vital community programs and services. Our brands comprise of Savers (in the U.S. and Australia), Value Village (in the U.S. and Canada), Unique (in the U.S.), and Village des Valeurs (in Quebec). All in all, we operate over 300 locations and have 20,000 employees.
Everything we sell in the Charlottetown store is purchased from the Diabetes Canada, including the items donated through our donation center, nothing comes into our store free . We are also involved in other things here that benefit our area and the environment and the world and on the island. We also have donated various items to the local charity groups. We employ 70 people who live in our area, who take great pride in the store and put out 8 to 9,000 items every week day, and want nothing more than to make your experience a positive one.
Our recycling efforts keep 700 million pounds a year out of landfills, we do our best to recycling very responsibly at our own cost. On top of that all the clothing , footwear, cookware and toys that we do not sell off the floor here in Charlottetown, we ship to 32 different third world countries where those items get to be used again.
