Summer Student Job Opportunity Timeline: 18 Weeks May 6th, 2024 to September 6th, 2024 Duties include but not limited to; Forestry Management: Tree Planting, Tree Pruning, Collecting Field Data, Pre Commercial & Commercial Thinning, Harvesting Timber (with Chainsaw) & Lumber Porting Maintenance of Equipment: Sharpening &; Maintaining Work and Safety Equipment for Hand Tools, Washing Forestry Machinery, Greasing & Daily Maintenance Must be able to work outside in all but extreme weather conditions, able to take directions from supervisor and work independently Must be able to provide personal transportation to and from job sites Must be a student enrolled in a full time post secondary college or university Required: Steel toe CSA approved work boots; all other safety equipment is provided. $1500 towards your education is granted to students who complete the full 18 weeks of work.   

Forestry Labourer

Backwoods Tree Cutting is looking to hire a highly motivated Forestry Labourer. General Labourer

Fisher Tree Services is seeking general labourers to assist in the carbonization of all Fiona Storm Debris. Duties can include and but are not limited to the following: Heavy lifting Working outdoors in cold temperatures Travel from 5 designated sites Operation of heavy equipment if required Operation of power equipment if required Reliability to commute Chosen candidates must provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes steal toe boots and hard hats. Wages to be negotiated based on experience.

Arborist

Looking to hire an arborist to join the team. Experience in the tree care industry required. ISA certification is an asset but not necessary for this position.

Heavy Equipment Operator

The purpose of this role is to perform the general duties of a heavy equipment operator used for mulching, excavating, construction and maintenance of forests, buildings and other structures, Major Accountabilities:  Operate mulchers or other heavy equipment to clear brush and stumps before building pathways or to build roads at any new or old construction. Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment. Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored safely. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse. Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures. Ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment would be an asset Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation. Positive Attitude, and ability to work in a team environment Experience:   Candidates must be extremely detail-oriented and strive for both timely and accurate work at all time Experience as a heavy equipment operator would be considered an asset Operating heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures. Valid Drivers License Class 3A would be an asset
