Inclusion Support Assistant

The Early Learning Centre is seeking an Inclusion Support Assistant to join our team.  The Inclusion Support Assistant will enable children with special needs to participate to their full potential in environments that are carefully planned to serve individual needs, and to facilitate the child’s progress in the social, emotional, physical and cognitive areas of development. As part of our team you are responsible to: Offer a play-based, emergent curriculum Create, adapt and maintain an environment that protects the health and safety of children and adults Observe, record, and document children’s work Foster social interactions and child development Adapt equipment, materials and supplies to meet the needs of children with special needs Build relationships with children, parents and co-workers Mentor adult students in the Early Childhood Education and Care program at Holland College Other duties as assigned Qualifications Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Human Services.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Inclusion Support Assistant – School Age

Hunter River Early Learning Centre is seeking to add an Inclusion Support Assistant to our After School team. We strive to offer a high quality child care and education program for children up to five years old at our Early Learning Centre, and for children 6 to 12 years at our After School Program. General Description: Being responsible for the well being, care and early education of children and a support to their families within the School-Age Program. Performing appropriate activities and tasks in the following areas: program management, guidance and behavior management, health and safety, and professionalism. Able to work with a child one on one and be able to provide support, when needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Welcome all families and provides a safe, fun and positive atmosphere and environment. Maintains confidentiality of the families and other staff members of the School Age Program. Organizes space, equipment, and materials prior to activities.
