Red Seal Carpenter

Job Description:

Northumberland Group is seeking a Carpenter (Red Seal) in Cornwall, PE.

Answering to the company General Manager, the Carpenter (Red Seal) must be a Red Seal Carpenter and will be responsible for a variety of on-site duties required for day-to-day construction operations.

Job Duties will include:

• Overseeing and providing on-site direction to labourers (crew of 2-4 people)
• Performs common occupational skills (NOC 72310)
• Concrete work (foundation setup)
• Framing and erecting walls
• Set and install roof trusses, and installing roofing
• Installing exterior finishes (windows/doors/gutters/siding/decks/etc.)
• Installing interior finishes (doors/trim/flooring/cabinets/etc.)

Qualifications & Experience:  

• Red Seal Qualification in Carpentry
• Minimum 3 years experience in residential construction
• Class 5 drivers license with a good driving record (minimum 2 years)
• WHMIS certificate
• Standard First Aid
• Fall protection or other certificates are considered assets

The Carpenter (Red Seal) will be involved from the start through the completion of multi-unit residential properties. If hired prior to spring projects start (March/April 2025), the construction foreman will complete various miscellaneous construction tasks such as office renovation, outbuilding construction, etc. Work locations will be primarily in the Cornwall and west end of Charlottetown areas, with occasional project work throughout Eastern Prince County and Queens County. Mileage may be payable depending on the work site location.
