Reports to: Owners/General Manager

Working Hours: Working hours may vary. Hours may include weekends.

SETTING
Nabuurs Gardens is a seasonal garden centre and farm market located in Brudenell Prince Edward Island. Nabuurs Gardens specializes in creating vibrant outdoor spaces, offering expert plant care advice, landscaping services, baked goods and supplying a wide range of premium greenery for both residential and commercial clients.

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and passionate person to fulfill the dual role of Baker/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing, baking, and presenting a wide range of goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, cookies and ready-to-eat products in a professional kitchen or bakery environment. This position will ensure that all products meet high standards of food safety, quality and consistency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients, ensuring correct ratios and consistency.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens and mixers.
• Monitor product quality throughout the baking process to ensure consistency.
• Maintain a clean and organized baking area in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Decorate  pastries and ensure the presentation is visually appealing.
• Manage inventory of ingredients and ensure supplies are ordered as needed.
• Ensure recording keeping and best cleaning practices are being met.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to meet organizational goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Education and experience in the culinary industry is considered an asset but not required.

COMPENSATION

• Pay Range: Starting at $20–$25/hour, based upon experience, education and qualifications.
