Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate farm equipment and machinery to till soil, plant, cultivate and harvest crops, and load and unload crops or containers of materials;
  • Perform equipment and machinery maintenance;
  • Maintain clean and safe workspace and equipment;
  • Inspect equipment and machinery operations to detect malfunctions;
  • Test repaired equipment and machinery for proper performance suitable for daily work operations;
  • Follows all safety rules, regulations and procedures in performing work functions;
  • Perform or assist in performing animal husbandry activities;
  • Control insect populations, weed growth and crop diseases by spraying pesticides and fertilizers as needed;
  • May supervise hired farm labourers during work;
  • Other duties as required.

About candidate:

  • Strong work Ethic
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
  • Mechanical knowledge is a plus, especially in operating farm machinery
  • A driver’s license is required
  • Training and licensure to operate heavy farm equipment
  • Language: English

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work under fast-paced conditions
  • This is a multi-use farm.  The successful candidate will be working with livestock and crops
  • Physically demanding: standing, lifting, bending or twisting the body.
  • Handling heavy loads
