Truck Driver

Job Description:

Role Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent and Dispatch, the Class 3 Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting various construction materials. Traveling throughout Prince Edward Island, this role will consist of safely transporting materials to and from job sites.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all loads are loaded, unloaded, and secured properly.
• Ensure daily trip logs are up to date and submitted weekly along with truck tickets.
• Deliver products safely and professionally, providing exceptional customer service.
• Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding any updates or changes in scheduling.
• Occasionally load materials using heavy equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and daily maintenance.
• Assist with minor physical activities such as shoveling tracks, greasing pins, and hooking/unhooking trailers.
• Report any damages or issues to the superintendent or dispatcher immediately.
• Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support management in implementing solutions or report deficiencies to management when required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• 1+ years of driving experience.
• Experience in civil construction is considered an asset.
• Class 1 or 3 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while remaining alert and vigilant.
• Flexibility for shift hours and the ability to work frequent overtime.
• Ability to handle minor physical tasks and assist with equipment as needed.
