Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join a well established family medicine practice in Summerside, PEI. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing support to both patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in administrative tasks within a medical or dental office setting, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and provide information regarding services.
  • Maintain patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Verify patient information.
  • Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient flow and care delivery.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and staff.

Skills

  • Experience in a dental or medical office environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using computers and EMR.
  • Familiarity with phone systems and scheduling software.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to assist in effective communication within the office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
