EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
GATE ATTENDANT

The City of Charlottetown is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our Parks and Recreation team as Gate Attendants for Victoria Park and Simmons Pools. The successful candidates will be responsible for greeting members of the public and monitoring capacity at Victoria Park and Simmons Pools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collecting, recording and balancing all daily fees.
• Recording the number of visitors entering and exiting the pool area and reporting to lifeguards when pool capacity is reached.
• Responsible for keeping daily attendance records for open swims and lane swims.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for visitor inquiries, feedback, and concerns, ensuring prompt and professional resolution.
• Responsible for the cleaning of washrooms/change room facilities (i.e., removing excess water, cleaning up paper debris, cleaning showers etc.).
• Cleaning in and around pool deck/fence area.
• Assisting lifeguards during any rescue or emergency situations.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes participation and engagement among visitors and program participants.
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Quality customer service
• Works well on their own with limited supervision
• Ability to record numbers and keep track of daily attendance
• Ability to balance and handle money
• Basic CPR and First Aid Certification
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

WORK STATUS: Casual, June 16 -August 31, 2025

HOURS OF WORK: 35-40 hours/week, will include evenings and weekends. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
SALARY: Non-Union, $16.50 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)
