Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews, collect, and compile data on economic development and industry sector related needs in PEI.
- Maintain accurate records of all information and prepare progress reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Attend area seminars and other meetings as necessary.
- Prepare other articles, reports and presentations as required.
- Travel to meet with industry sector councils, chamber of commerce and/or other related individuals as needed to compile necessary information.
- Conduct and record face-to-face and/or telephone interviews.
- Review and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Write and contribute to reports as indicated by Executive Director.
- Engage community partners in research.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum High school diploma
- Currently enrolled in a post secondary education program in Business, Tourism, Engineering, or similar discipline and planning to return to school in the fall.
- Drivers license in good standing and access to a car for periodic meetings and/or training purposes (mileage will be reimbursed).
Research Assistant top skills & proficiencies:
- Time management skills and ability to work independently. Communication, Attention to detail, Critical thinking, Technical skills
- Statistical and Graphical Analysis of Data
- Skills in daily task management, planning, scheduling, interviewing using different mediums (phone, face to face, and electronic meeting platforms like zoom, teams, skype)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
