Truck Driver, Class 1-A

Job Description:

Cavendish Agri Services supports farmers in growing healthy and productive crops. We have 7 manufacturing/retail locations serving Atlantic Canada. Our primary products include fertilizers, crop protectants and technical expertise.

Cavendish Agri’s trucking division is looking for Class 1A truck drivers to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting potatoes to the Cavendish Farms plants, in New Annan.

It is a SEASONAL position from beginning in May to the end of July with the potential to stay longer.

This is a rotational role during daytime hours (12-14 hour shift) running 4 days on and 4 days off.

Wage – $23/hour
Work Location – based out of New Annan, PE.

Qualifications:

• Class-1A driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
• Bulk hauling experience would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience with live-bottom trailer would be an asset.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Able to work well independently and follow safety, quality control, and operating procedures at all times.
• Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
• Able to speak, read, and write the English language proficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Haul potatoes from the storages to the plant.
• Perform vehicle inspections; clean and perform mandatory maintenance to equipment including basic troubleshooting.
• Perform all tasks with safety being the number one priority.
• Ensure completion of paperwork.
• Represent the company in a professional, positive and pleasant manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
