Prince Edward Island’s employment numbers decreased 400 persons to 95,600 persons when comparing August 2026 to July 2026. On a year-over-year basis, employment increased by 1,400 persons in August 2026. Over the same period, Canada’s employment increased by 1.0% or by 216,500. In Prince Edward Island, there was a year-over-year increase in persons employed full time (0.9%) while there was a year over year increase in persons employed part time (6.7%).
