Tax Manager
Key responsibilities include: Preparation of corporate reorganizations and tax planning; Assisting with succession planning; Assisting with tax audits, reviews, assessments, voluntary disclosures and notices of objections; Navigating tax inquiries and required research; Managing complex tax matters – tax compliance, Trust returns, personal and corporate tax returns; Supporting the Tax Partner and firm staff regarding tax matters. The ideal candidate will offer the following skills and abilities: CPA designation or similar relevant designation; Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course with 3 – 5 years of full-time tax experience; Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team and within a confidential work environment; Self-motivated using a thorough and methodical approach on projects; Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects in a timely manner; High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; Critical thinking skills using logic and reasonability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions and best practices; and Excellent computer skills using various accounting programs, i.e., CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, Quickbooks and MS Office products.
