Job Description:

Career Development Services (CDS) was founded in 2003. We provide service and support to individuals living in Prince Edward Island who are exploring careers, looking for work, or are in career transition. Our services are free, confidential, and available Island-wide. Client services are delivered on site at CDS and may be in-person, by phone, email and/or video call.

The Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of a site manager and is responsible for providing support to both clients and staff of PEI Career Development Services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting clients/guests in a friendly manner and providing general reception duties.
  • Organizing calendars and scheduling appointments.
  • Answering phone calls and email, providing information, and appropriately directing inquiries.
  • Preparing monthly reports and maintaining established databases.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and archiving files.
  • Creating a welcoming public Resource Centre and providing client assistance, where appropriate.
  • Opening/closing the office.
  • Completing other office tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a Business/Office Studies program, or related discipline is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 is an asset.
  • The ability to establish positive relationships with the general public and co-workers, to maintain strict confidentiality, show initiative, and to keep an organized work flow and work space.
  • The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal record check and proof of education, prior to beginning employment.

Location: Montague, Prince Edward Island

Employment Type: Full-time contract (37.5 hours/week)

Annual Starting Salary: $41,064 annually
