What You’ll Be Doing

PEI Bag Co is in the end stages of a major capital expansion that will outfit our manufacturing plant with state-of-the-art printing and converting machinery.  As a full-time maintenance service technician, you will be responsible for equipment in the plant which may include the following:

  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair system problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance routines.
  • Project work when required to upgrade or install new equipment.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to move in a fast-paced indoor manufacturing environment.  You will be required to use personal protective equipment and be trained for use of required maintenance tools (welding, scissor lifts, etc) for your safety and the safety of others.  You will be able to pay attention to detail, can lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time and bend, crouch, or kneel as may be required to repair equipment.

  • + $3.00/hr shift premium above the base rate of pay for permanent evening shift employees.

We have two production shifts from Monday through Friday:

  • 6:00am- 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm-10:00pm

Overtime may be offered, or required, to meet operational demands.

Job Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education required in one or more of the following maintenance fields:  electromechanical, industrial electrical, industrial automation, Millwright or a combination of demonstrated equivalencies and related experience may be considered.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Integrity and work ethic.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • High energy, initiative, and sense of urgency to get the job done.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Understanding of industrial automation and controls.

The PEI Bag Company manufacturing plant is located in Central Bedeque (PEI). We are 15-minutes from Borden, Kensington, Summerside and 30-minutes from Cornwall and Tyne Valley.
