In the first quarter of 2026, non-permanent resident (NPR) population in Prince Edward Island was 10,368, compared with a total 12,522 in the same quarter of 2025. This population consisted of 5,962 work permit holders, 3,170 study permit holders, 719 work and study permit holders, 157 Asylum claimants, protected persons and related groups and 360 other.
