Chief Engineer

Job Description:

Wyman’s is a leading grower, packager, and marketer of wild blueberries.  We are seeking a Chief Engineer to work in our Morell, PE location. This is a permanent, full-time position. As a Chief Engineer, you will coach, lead, and develop a team of refrigeration engineers and maintenance staff, providing them with direction, ensuring that safety is met with the highest standard, and ensuring operations of the refrigeration systems continue to operate reliably.

Core Responsibilities:

• Safely lead, mentor, direct, and train a team of refrigeration engineers and maintenance staff.
• Operate and maintain the ammonia and refrigeration systems.
• Ensure safety codes, legislation, and other regulations are followed in relation to refrigeration systems.
• Working alongside the Plant Manager and Maintenance group, providing support and direction to tradespeople in maintaining the reliability of the refrigeration and processing line equipment.
• Administrative responsibilities include budgeting control as well as task/time scheduling.
• Scheduling and providing supervision of contracted services within the facility.
• With support from management and team members, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

Qualifications:

• Refrigeration A ticket.
• 5 years of supervisory experience.
• The ability to lead, train, and collaborate with others.
• Solid understanding of proactive maintenance systems, as well as continuous improvement strategies included in lean manufacturing models.
• Experience with refrigeration systems and ammonia systems.
• Results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Adaptable and flexible team player.
• Strong computer skills.

Salary: $38.00 + Depending On Qualifications
