We work to support community efforts to improve the status of women in PEI, promote equality using feminist analysis and practice, provide a forum for PEI women’s voices, and act as a referral support connecting people to needed programs and services.

WNPEI’s vision is an Island free from oppression, with equitable access to what everyone needs to thrive.

Position Summary

Women’s Network PEI is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Still Visible program, an innovative leadership and social connection program designed for senior women on PEI.

This role is central to delivering a community-based program that brings together senior women in small groups to build leadership skills, foster peer support networks, and strengthen social inclusion. The coordinator will play a key role in creating a welcoming, participant-driven environment where older women can share knowledge, mentor one another, and collectively address issues impacting their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly sessions for 2 cohorts of senior women from September 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027
  • Support participants in co-creating session topics on shared interests, priorities, and lived experiences
  • Encourage peer mentoring and leadership development through participant-led discussions and activities
  • Coordinate guest speakers, resource people and community partners as needed
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful space that supports social connection and empowerment
  • Participate in program evaluation activities, including feedback collection and reporting
  • Support outreach and engagement efforts, particularly in rural communities
  • Assist with coordination, planning and implementation of a full-day leadership conference

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience facilitating groups in community, peer-led, or adult learning environments
  • Strong understanding of issues impacting older women, including social isolation, ageism, and gender equity
  • Ability to create inclusive, respectful, and participant-driven spaces that encourage open dialogue and shared leadership
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and foster meaningful connections
  • Experience supporting peer mentorship, knowledge sharing or community engagement initiatives
  • Comfortable coordinating with community partners, guest speakers, and service providers
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time, session planning, and follow-up activities
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Working Conditions
