As a Machine Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring high-quality products are efficiently packaged and shipped to customers while working with state-of-the-art equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

  • Operate packaging, weighing, bagging, sealing, labeling, conveying, and palletizing equipment.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure efficient operation and product flow.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and production targets.
  • Perform equipment start-up, changeovers, and shutdown procedures

Quality Assurance

  • Inspect products and packaging to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Verify correct weights, packaging materials, and labels.
  • Identify and remove defective products.
  • Complete quality and production records accurately.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Safely clear minor jams and address operational issues.
  • Report equipment concerns to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining optimal machine performance.

Safety & Food Safety

  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Comply with food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance staff, quality assurance personnel, and coworkers.
  • Perform production line setup and product changeovers.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, food processing, agriculture, or production environments is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
  • Forklift experience or certification is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a production environment.
