Job Description:

Transportation East requires a Driver understanding the mechanics of a hydraulic ramp-lift system. (Training will be Provided)  Must have Class 4 driver’s license or willing to obtain one at driver’s expense. More than 5 year’s driving experience is an asset, a clean driver’s abstract and criminal record check with vulnerable person check is mandatory.

Other duties include:

Time Management & Flexibility:  To maintain client’s schedule .  Being able to accommodate changes quickly and easily.
Safety: To ensure safe arrival and departures to expected locations offering personal assists (physical and non-physical) when required.  Able to make adjustments in inclement weather.
Support:  To ensure client transportation needs are met and treated with respect and dignity.
Van Cleaning Duties: Routine cleaning of high-touch areas. Washing, vacuum, windows, other interior and exterior cleaning or as needed.
To Ensure van(s) are in top working order and maintained including gas and all fluids, oil checks, tires, lights, and seasonal requirements.
Documenting tasks and mileage/schedule completed and reporting issues to Coordinator.

Road Safety Laws: To ensure full knowledge and recognition of laws and defensive driving practices
Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems in a safe and defensive manner.
Active Listening — Giving attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand full request or direction.
Operation Monitoring — Pre-trip inspections, monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Salary for this position is $20.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
