Position: Utility Maintenance Worker
Type: Temporary Term (30 weeks)
Reports to: Utility Supervisor
Salary Range: $20.00 per hour
Work Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30pm)
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated individual to assist with general maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure within the Town of Stratford. This employee will gain experience working in a team, supporting essential municipal services, and hands-on experience maintaining utility systems and related infrastructure, all under the supervision of Stratford Utility Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with general maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure components including manholes, valves, and fire hydrants
- Support maintenance of lift stations, wells, and water buildings
- Perform minor landscaping duties as required
- Assist staff with inspections and upkeep of utility systems
- Carry out other related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks on a daily basis
- Valid PEI driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment
- Experience in general labour, construction, or utilities work considered an asset
- Ability to work safely and follow instructions in an outdoor work environment
- Reliable, dependable, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent and must be bondable.
