About us

In 2021, we opened our first coffee shop and micro-roastery in Charlottetown, which celebrated global specialty coffee trends and the special local flavours and landscape alike. In Spring 2022, we were offered a new way to serve our wonderful PEI community having the second location in PEIโ€™s capital cityโ€™s library.

We are beginning to expand the business via developing the brand new coffee roastery to upscale the production capability. In the meantime, we have product offerings and develop a growth strategy to sell cold brew canned coffee (KOOLBREW), single-serving drip bag coffee and whole beans regionally and nationally.

We are looking for a long-term commitment coffee roaster to join our growing team.

We are more than willing to train the right applicant!

Responsibilities:

As a coffee roaster/heavy equipment operator

  • Daily/weekly working with the coffee roasting machine to roast coffee with different roasting profiles.
  • Daily/weekly perform the maintenance/cleaning procedures of the factory
  • Contribute to the management of plant operations safely and efficiently
  • Executing the quality control program including roasting procedures; cleaning procedures; in-bounce and out-bounce procedures etc.
  • Handle the operation of all machines and equipment (roasting machine, sealing and packaging equipment).
  • Handle the repair and maintenance of the factory machines and equipment.

As a coffee manufactureโ€™s assistant:

  • Assist with bagging and blending of coffee
  • Assist in picking & packing of coffee
  • Assist the production of canned coffee, drip bag coffee and other products.
  • Ensure complete shipping and receiving of orders
  • Restock inventory and upkeep warehouse
  • Ensure quality control of labeling, packing, and stocking of the product
  • Assist with keeping the production area clean and tidy
  • Use forklift and other transportation/delivery equipment when necessary
  • Assist the roast master with roasting coffee
  • Local deliveries as needed
  • Perform other tasks and duties to assist the roast master/production manager.

Capabilities:

You might be the right person if:

  • You have a strong attention to detail.
  • You enjoy collaborating, and work well with others.
  • You’re internally driven to stay focused and motivated, and have excellent multi-tasking abilities
  • You’re comfortable lifting boxes up to 50 pounds at a time, sometimes frequently and throughout the day.
  • Prior experience working as engineering to repair and maintain machines (using gas systems) and equipment in factory and plantation is a plus;
  • Prior working experience in quality control/management of manufacture is a plus.
  • You’re fine with bending, reaching, carrying, standing, and walking throughout the day.
