Job Description:

The Seafood Export Manager leads international market expansion, coordinates cross-border supply chains, and manages the regulatory documentation required to ship perishable products globally. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of global seafood trade laws, cold-chain logistics, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems.

Core Responsibilities :

Sales & Market Development:

Research global seafood market trends, secure contracts with foreign distributors, and achieve regional revenue targets.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain complete alignment with international food safety laws, customs regulations, and specific agency frameworks like the FDA, CBP, and NOAA Fisheries.
Documentation & Logistics:

Authorize and process strict international trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, health certifications, and Catch Certificates.

Cold-Chain Management:

Oversee freight forwarders and shipping partners to ensure the continuous, temperature-controlled transit of fresh or frozen goods.
Supplier & Buyer Engagement:

Act as the primary gatekeeper for seafood quality, negotiating prices, specifications, and volume thresholds directly with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
Education:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Food Science.

Experience:

Minimum of 3โ€“5 years handling logistics, purchasing, or sales explicitly within the commercial seafood or perishable food sectors.

Certifications:

Formally trained in HACCP food hygiene principles and export compliance systems. [1, 2]
Skills:

High proficiency in global freight contract negotiation, cross-cultural communications, and trade software systems.
Languages:

Bi-lingual or multi-lingual fluency is strongly preferred depending on the primary target export market (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese,French Etc..)
