Job Description:

The Cleaner / Content Processing role at ⁠ServiceMaster of P.E.I. involves disaster recovery where you restore residential and commercial properties. Tasks range from packing and listing damaged items (like contents affected by fire and smoke) to property sanitation, deep cleaning, and post-construction cleanup.

Position Summary

As a Content Processing Technician, you are on the front lines of disaster recovery. You will help families and businesses salvage, clean, and deodorize their belongings following catastrophic damage, as well as decontaminate structural properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pack and Inventory: Carefully pack, protect, and document customer belongings from damaged properties.
  • Content Cleaning: Clean, sanitize, and deodorize contents (furniture, electronics, textiles) affected by water, smoke, or fire.
  • Property Restoration: Perform structural deep-cleaning of homes and businesses after fire, water, and construction cleanup.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain, track, and store client contents safely in the warehouse.
  • Equipment & PPE: Wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and ensure all company equipment and trucks are clean and stocked.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Previous cleaning or disaster restoration experience is an asset.
  • Reliability: Strong self-management, time management, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Requirements: Ability to pass a criminal record check (or provide a clear Code of Conduct) and a valid driver’s license.
  • Certifications: IICRC certification is a strong asset, though not required.

Work Environment & Compensation

Type: Full-time (often requiring flexible availability for on-call rotations, evenings, or weekends).
