Production Assistant: The River Clyde Pageant 2026

TERM: Seasonal Contract — June 2nd to August 11th, 2026, 10 weeks
LOCATION: New Glasgow PE
HOURS AND FEE:  30 hours/week; $19.75/hour

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
River Clyde Arts is a non-profit organization that unites local creators, volunteers & professional artists across cultures & creative practices in the making of ambitious, awe-inspiring outdoor theatre and seasonal events. Our central project is our summer production of the River Clyde Pageant (RCP), created and performed in New Glasgow, PEI since 2016. Other annual projects include Sharing the Field (STF), a weekend celebration of art, food and community during the fall harvest, and the River Clyde Solstice Walk (SW), an outdoor lantern walk celebrating the winter solstice.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position is for a student starting or returning to post-secondary school in the fall who will support the Associate Producer and Season Producer across a range of production and administrative tasks through the creation, performance and tear-down of the River Clyde Pageant. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable moving between desk work and hands-on site work. They enjoy working with artists and community members of all ages and can solve problems quickly and creatively. Must be comfortable working outdoors and as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supporting on-site builds and physical production tasks
  • Preparing production meeting agendas and keeping time during meetings
  • Assisting with Front of House and site operations on show days
  • Conducting supply runs as needed
  • Supporting volunteer orientation and coordination
  • Supporting accessibility initiatives across Pageant programming
  • Assisting with safety planning documentation and implementation

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be starting or returning to post-secondary school in the fall
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Comfortable taking direction and working across multiple areas of a production
  • Previous experience in theatre, events, community programming, carpentry, or landscaping is an asset but not a requirement
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; proficient with email, Google Docs, and Google Drive
  • Access to a vehicle or reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in variable weather conditions

This position is for candidates based in Prince Edward Island. Irregular working hours will be required, including work on evenings and weekends.

  • Saturday, July 18: 9:00-11:30 am; 4:00-9:00 pm – Stumble-Through Rehearsal
  • Sunday, July 19: 5:00-8:00 pm Full Run-Through
  • Tuesday, July 21: 6:00-9:00 pm Full Run-Through
  • Wednesday, July 22: 6:00-9:00 pm – Rain Date Rehearsal

Performance dates:

  • Thursday, July 23 – Sunday July 26: 6:00-9:30 pm Shows 1-4
  • Thursday, July 30 – Sunday Aug 2: 6:00-9:30 pm Shows 5-8

Post-Pageant Tear-Down:
August 4 – 6, 10am-4pm
