Job Description:

Position Title: SEAM Coordinator

Location: Montague, Kings County, Prince Edward Island

Duration:ย  ย May 25th-August 28th

The SEAM Coordinator will serve as supervisor for all SEAM staff and youth participants (ages 15-18, returning to high school in the fall of 2025) ensuring the effective execution of the projectโ€™s work plan, and providing hands-on support and guidance throughout the duration of the project.

This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and working with youth. Coordinators will play an essential role in ensuring project success by coordinating activities, mentoring participants, and developing partnerships with local organizations and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Coordination:

  • Lead and supervise the SEAM staff and participants.
  • Develop and implement the projectโ€™s work plan with guidance from the SEAM Hub Supervisor and ResourceAbilities Employment Services Manager.
  • Oversee daily activities to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Administrative Support:

  • Ensure all required documentation (TD1 forms, banking info, SIN support) is completed.
  • Assist participants in obtaining necessary documentation such as bank accounts or SINs.

Communication & Outreach:

  • Assist with selecting youth participants for the SEAM Program.
  • Foster and develop potential community partnerships (e.g., bus passes with the City of Summerside.
  • Serve as a liaison with external service providers for activities and guest speakers.

Program Design & Facilitation:

  • Coordinate enhancement days including career-focused activities, campus tours (Holland College), and workshops.
  • Design and facilitate participant activities that support career exploration and technology skills.

Mentorship & Team Building:

  • Act as a mentor to participants, helping them problem-solve and develop appropriate team behaviors.
  • Design work contracts for participants, outlining roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Lead the planning and execution of a final celebration event to showcase the participants’ achievements.

Evaluation & Reporting:

  • Utilize evaluation frameworks to track progress and success of SEAM participants
  • Participate in ongoing meetings with the SEAM Hub Supervisor and Employment Manager to ensure program objectives and outcomes are met.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in project coordination, leadership, or supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Experience working with youth, mentoring, or in educational settings is an asset.
  • Knowledge of career development, public relations, or marketing is a plus.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Other Information:

  • Coordinator must be willing to travel to different sites as required.
  • A valid cell phone is necessary, with reimbursement provided for usage.
