General Manager – Red Sands Cleaning
Location: Charlottetown, PEI
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
Red Sands Cleaning is seeking a General Manager to lead one of the Island’s busiest and fastest-growing cleaning operations. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a seasonal team of up to 50 cleaners, while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering consistent, high-quality service.
About the Role
The General Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations, team leadership, scheduling, and client management.
Red Sands Cleaning services dozens of recurring clients across PEI and plays a critical role supporting Red Sands Vacations, including the turnover of over 100 high-end short-term rental properties each season.
The team operates year-round, with approximately 10 cleaners in the off-season and scaling to up to 50 cleaners during the summer months. The summer season is fast-paced and demanding, with regular evening and weekend work required. During the off-season, the role shifts to include approximately 20 hours per week in the field completing cleans, training staff, and maintaining quality control standards.
This position is based out of our Charlottetown headquarters, where you will have access to a staff lounge and workspace to support daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, coach, and manage the cleaning team across all seasons
- Schedule and coordinate staff using internal management software
- Ensure all cleans meet company standards and client expectations
- Act as the face of the business and manage key client relationships
- Meet with prospective clients and convert new business
- Oversee all cleaning operations including residential, commercial, construction, and move-out cleans
- Work closely with Red Sands Vacations, supporting the turnover of over 100 high-end short-term rental properties during peak season
- Host team meetings and organize team events to maintain culture and performance
Work Structure
- Summer (Peak Season): Primarily office-based at HQ, coordinating a large team, with evenings and weekends required
- Off-Season: Reduced office workload with approximately 20 hours per week in the field
- Banked time from peak season can be used during slower months, capped at a set maximum
Requirements
- Proven management or leadership experience
- Strong organization and scheduling skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a large team accountable
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (company vehicle may be negotiated for the right candidate)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset but not required
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
